  various unlikely scenarios are offered in reply.

  i have taken the bait myself in the past.. i think the correct answer is much more ordinary.

  Your response obviously makes me smile in a good way; and smile at my own way of expressing matters too.

  If there is a basic disagreement on the foundation of a matter, it is simply not possible to reconcile views by working out details. Details then tend to divide views and create further discord.

  Theism and atheism are examples of such a difference in subjective conclusions. Endless detail will not alter a stance because there are too many variables to reach that basic conclusion.

  Dear Cofty, does this sound easier? I hope so!

  i don’t remember having any invisible friends when i was a really little boy, i don’t know if such a thing actually exists, i’ve only ever seen it in movies?

  of course it might have looked to others like i was talking to someone on occasions, but i’m sure it would have just been me talking to myself.

  the thing is though, i got introduced to an invisible friend in my pre-teens, and i kept the relationship going well into adulthood.

  When a prayer is seemingly "answered" in a positive way, it is really just a case of confirmation bias.

  May I ask: What about a prayer that continues to be answered before all over a long period of time? Time and numbers of people should cancel out a confirmation bias, I would suppose.

  This I ask in general, and not of a specific poster as, EdenOne.

  A major misadventure!

  hi, everyone.. i haven't posted here much in quite a while, but having just been laid low by injury, i'll likely be a frequent visitor for some time to come!.

  two weeks ago, i was involved in a workplace accident that left me with my lower l.h.

  leg fractured in three places (the tibia and fibular both broken clean through, plus another crack in the "neck" of the fibular for good measure!

  I am sorry.

  The surgeons tell me that it will be three months before I am able to place my full weight on the leg, and up to six months before I can walk again on it comfortably.

  I had managed to last 62 years

  Your strength of experience is on your side. May you have rest and patience, one day at a time!

  we don’t take any real responsibility for our life, or or try to improve the world in any meaningful way,

  A simpler life is still recommended. Taking responsibility - yes!

  one doesn't fully grow up until one says goodbye to their invisible friend!

  Any concept of God is a fundamental misunderstanding, if it is rooted in self-centeredness.

  May I recommend, The Listening Post with Richard Gizbert, Al Jazeera. It's a 30-minute, weekly show, for those with time constraints? Richard's manner is a lesson in unbiased analysis.

  There is something fundamentally wrong with 24-hour/day news! It's unhealthy, to say the least.

  A woman's Heartfelt message to the Governing Body

  i just watched this lovely lady's heartfelt message to the governing body.

  i hope that the men she named and all lurkers who have some clout at bethel listen to this message and stop this cruel and divisive shunning policy that has ruined so many family's around the world.

  this is just one voice of many many people who feel this way about your (governing body) destructive policy.

  The Governing Body don't deserve to have live audience with her. They could though, feel safe and secure with the barrier of a computer screen in between them and Her. May their sense of safety be VERY TEMPORARY!
